Yes I know we discussed this earlier, that's why the "decent" word was used. I meant there should be a good general area page with all the necessary information - stapling together what currently is available only in fragments :)

Hadn't we better wait till the Pieniny disappear behind high rises? It's not gonna take long. :(

BTW Some more pix of the Pieniny

Thanks Jacek, nice job, Eric!

(as a side note, I see no contradiction between the "nature conservation" and the "fear from crowds coming over from Poland")

Sadly, true indeed ...
However there is such left to Fatransky Krivan in Mala Fatra (like Kasprowy Wierch) and exactly the same kind of crowds is found there. Fatransky Krivan is not on the border but I let you imagine the face of the Poles when the slovaks build it.
Imho it's a bit a kind of hypocrisy : the Poles protest about recent development projects on the slovak hillside (ski tracks in the place of former destroyed forests) but in the same time they install a new lift on Kasprowy with doubled capacity !

Well, the true conflict is not between Poles and Slovaks, but between "exploiters" and "appreciaters", both of which can be found pretty much everywhere...

Thanks. :D When on SP? :)

Exactly. Another real problem is that people walking off trail, especially within the forest, scare wild animals. AFAIK the bears may hide several metres away from a fairly frequented road and they can get used to it and are OK as long as people keep to that road.

Just a backstage info: I will try to transform the Oszoly page to a mountain page, that's why I didn't advertise it yet... but anyway, thanks Jacek!
