I know that sounds harsh, but if you doubt your skills, experience, whatever and aren't able to independently verify your goal, you probably shouldn't consider it.
Having said that, if you're in the area, have the gear, fitness, etc., it may be worthwhile trying to connect with some local climbers to do a more accessible winter climb like Chair Peak or something similar. It'll be safer, more fun and you'll have that much more experience when you get a chance to try Rainer again during the main season. Adventure is great, but coming home healthy is much better.
