Belleville 795 military boot for hiking, non technical work.

A marine friend suggested these as a good boot for hiking especially in colder weather. They also offer a heavier boot with 3x the insulation. So what do y'all think? I live in NorCal and don't currently plan on doing any hikes longer than three days. Any experiences with these boots or suggestions for a guy on a budget? I like an aggressive sole and good ankle support.

I have a pair of Bellevilles on my feet right now, and have been issued several pairs which is the only reason I wear them. When not at work I will wear my Asolos. I would recommend that you check out Sierra Trading post to find a pair on sale. I know they are more expensive but they are well worth the price even if it means saving for a little while, you won’t be disappointed. If you have any questions about specific differences let me know. I have used both from the tropics to the arctic.
