Right. That's why we're going to fix the new editor and do away with all of the older versions.

Scott wrote:Copy and Paste does not work in the new editor.

I just tested it in Chrome and FireFox and it worked for me. I was able to successfully copy from another page and create a new page with it. I also tried to copy from a MS Word Document and paste into the editor and I got the same error message you received. However, I did use the keyboard shortcut that the error message mentions at the top (Ctrl+v) and that worked to paste text.

Can you tell me step-by-step what you are doing when you try to copy and paste into the editor?

OK, I can get it to work on my desktop (sort of), but not the laptop. The laptop uses Windows 7 and the desktop uses Windows 10. I don't know if the difference is because of different Windows or something else.

Still, even with Windows 10, there is a big glitch after cutting and pasting. One I cut and paste something into a section. I can't add anything else at the end of the section and after the pasted text. I also can't add another paragraph between paragraphs in the pasted section or to add bold type.

Here's another bug or something. See the page below as an example:

I can't figure out how to delete the phantom text without destroying the entire page formatting. The text doesn't even show up in the old editor and if I try to delete it in the editor, it basically messes up the entire page.

Thanks.

OK, this happens when you delete a photo and later add something else. Although the text appears gone in the editor, part of the phantom text that was deleted seems to come back.

Here's another glitch.

It is incredibly difficult to add more than one photo to a section in the New Editor. I usually have to delete them and start over several times (which leaves the phantom text) using the old editor.

You can push enter after a photo in the new editor or it just moves the caption box. If you push enter after the caption box, your cursor moves down to the next section.

How to you add more than one photo to a section using the new editor? Even if I push enter several times to give space between the locations where I am going to add the photo, it seems to mess up the formatting.

Here's a very minor glitch.

If you cut and paste into the new editor and there is a picture already in that section, all the text cuts and paste to only the width of the photo. The good news (I found this by accident) is that after you hit submit, it seems to appear OK on the submitted page, so it only looks like that in the editor. Since it doesn't affect the page to be viewed, this is only a very minor glitch and might not be worth spending time on.

Ah! That's what I wasn't following. OK, that makes sense. Well, we're hoping to get rid of the old editor completely, so that won't be an issue going forward.

I'll try to recreate the issue you describe now by adding another section using the old editor and then come back to edit it in the new editor.

Sure, I'll do that.

I'll have to try to recreate this. I don't really follow what you are saying and without a video of what is happening, I can't really visualize it, but I'll try to recreate it myself.

I'll try to screenshot it.

OK, here's how to recreate it. I just noticed that it only happens when a photo was added in the old editors and then you try and edit anything in the new editor.

Try this page to test:

https://www.summitpost.org/test-page-ne ... ak/1028272

Add another photo using the old editor then try and use the new editor by adding text after the photo.

The reason I am unable to use the new editor for photos is because if you click in the caption area to edit, in the new editor it links to the photo and thus you can't edit. Therefore, I have to add all the photos in the old editor and the above problem occurs. Does this make sense? You can try it out to see it. It's kind of a duel problem because to edit a caption, I can't use the new editor and if I used the old one, it makes it so you can't add any kind of text to a section after a photo is added. Hopefully this makes sense and is easy to re-create.

I could try to video all this when my wife gets home. Unless I download an app to video my own computer screen. Do you have recommendations for this?

Scott, the hired programmer and I are focusing on fixing the way images are displayed, aligned, modified and captioned in the new editor. This should fix the majority of the issues that you've noticed. We did a lot of work today, but won't have anything to release until tomorrow.

I will post here again once we have something released. Then, if you (and others) can test and report bugs again, that would be great!

Also, thanks for all of the feedback and bug reports today. There are definitely quite a few issues dealing with images (alignment and captions primarily) when switching between the previous editors. We should have most of these issues fixed tomorrow, but we will need more testing again.

OK, here's another bug.

I copied and paste some information into the page below:

https://www.summitpost.org/mas-cahones-hill/1028115

It messed up the caption in the photo even though I didn't touch or modify the caption. The caption bar is all the way across the screen now.

Sounds awesome. I will refrain from making any more page edits today.

This is something that should be addressed with our upcoming changes tomorrow. Things we are focusing on are fixing alignment and captioning so that they are consistent across the site even when the HTML is different (older editors created different HTML).

And image alignment and captions should look the same in the new editor as on the live site.

We haven't started working on making it easy to edit captions yet, but that will come right after making the styling consistent across the site and within the new editor.

OK, here's one more I just noticed.

I wanted to revert a page back to the previous version in the history.

It gives the following error:

No object data found: version mismatch.

This is for a version that was just submitted less than a minute before.

Thanks. Can you provide me with a link to the page and version # you wanted to revert to?

This page:

I already deleted and resubmitted the photo though so it is fixed, but version 53521 was the version I was trying to revert back to.

Thanks. I reverted without any problems. Weird. I'll keep an eye out for that issue though.

Here's a small bug:

When you add a link and try to add text after the link, the New Editor seems to want to make all the text after the link as part of a link unless there is a paragraph break.
