Southern Sangre conditions?

by seano » Fri Mar 23, 2012 3:00 am

Has anyone here been up in the southern Sangres -- i.e. Blanca through Kit Carson or so -- recently? Or does anyone in e.g. Westcliffe or Alamosa read this forum? It looks like it's been awfully warm in the valleys, but is there enough snow sticking around up higher for skis to make sense? TIA.

Good call -- It looks pretty dry -- snowshoes optional below treeline, and skis probably a bad idea.

Made it here a week and a half too late. As of now, the Sangres are going to get some MUCH NEEDED potentially two feet of snow over the next couple of days. I did Lindsey, Blanca, Ellingwood in the past week, and the latter two were exceedingly dry today.
