This is the prominent extinct volcanic cone on Bear Ridge above the town of Glenwood. The hike is relatively short over high desert terrain without a trail but the views from the summit are some of the best in the valley.
Take the dirt road about 1,000 feet west of the junction between Highways 119 and 24 about 4.5 miles east of Glenwood, Utah. Drive the dirt road for 1.4 miles to the southwest. Turn right at the faint 4WD trail just southeast of the peak. Park 500 feet up the road.
Ascend the ridge to the north as it travels to the summit.
Round-trip Distance: 1.2 miles
Elevation Gain: 470 feet
No permits or fees required
Year-round but gaiters and waterproof boots likely in the winter.
There are a few primitive sites in the immediate vicinity along the dirt road.
