| kteichert | dog's favorite place ![]() Date Climbed: Apr 6, 2009 | |
| Living on Center Street in Salt Lake City for 2 years, my dog had to endure condo life. She lived most of her time on the 10'x10' balcony of our first floor apartment. I took her out to walk every day to get her mind straight, and ensign was a personal favorite that we summitted several times. If you are anywhere near downtown Salt Lake and want spectacular views of the city, this is a must. It is very easy, but worth it. If you want to venture up the ridge to the northwest of Ensign, there are many deer, and I also found an arch in the rocks on the ridge northwest, across the gully, and above Ensign Peak. If anybody finds that arch, please post a pic of it here for me to see. I will verify if that is certainly the one I found as well. Happy trails. | ||

| I remember having campfires up here/around here as a kid--bet you can't get away with that nowadays. I agree, not much of a 'climb', but a SLC classic nonetheless. Great views to the Great Salt Lake out west. | ||

| climbed it about 7 times all in a span from October 2007 to March 2008, got real sick of the hike and views now. The hike is piece of cake, anyone can easily do it without problem. | ||

| Scott Wesemann | Watch out for lightning Date Climbed: Aug 7, 1998 | |
| Many times, but the most memorable was with a group of youngsters from the local church group. On top it was obvious to all that the amazing lightning storm that was moving across the valley was headed right for us.. obvious to everyone except for one of the leaders... who had to give his prepared sermon, even though the strikes were getting steadily closer. After a few strikes that were VERY close, I decided to bail and about 5 min later as I was running down the trail, a strike came really close to the group and I had to chuckle at all of the people running off the summit! | ||

| Not a mountain by any means, but I've "climbed" it dozens of times. It's a 15 minute walk up a very small hill. | ||
