Fall Colors in Washington State 2011

This album was made to represent the beauty of Washington State in Fall. There is so much beauty in the mountains in fall around here. Fall color is here everywhere from the lowland decidious trees, the mid-level berry bushes and the high elevation larches. Washington State is a special place to be in fall and though this album doesn't cover all the beauty it at least shows some of the highlights special region. For those who are looking for cover in this region here is the layout of color...

Alpine Larches: Last week of September to Mid October
Berry Bushes: Mid September to Mid October
Western Larches: Mid October to Late October
Lowland Broadleaf Trees and Maples: Late October

Enjoy Washington State Finest....

Updates

9/25 Right now we are getting a slow start due to a late summer and a warm beginning to fall. Check back periodically and if you live in Washington State start taking those fall pictures and putting them on this site!

10/8 Josh Lewis put up a number of great pictures from Granite Mountain. As for the larch they will be hitting peak next week so get your cameras ready. Hopefully once the weather breaks again I will be there for more summits.

Really? No "golden alpine larches with various Enchantments Peaks in the background and a gentle dusting of snow" pictures up here yet? I know people must have snapped some this past weekend.

I got a couple from the Teanaway Area, but this album definitely needs more.
