OverviewLong Ridge is the highpoint of San Mateo County. Most of the ridge is located in Long Ridge Open Space, managed by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. The highpoint itself is on private property, about 200 yards from the park boundary.Red TapeThe highpoint is on private property and should not be visited without permission. The area is surrounded by high fences and the owner's house is 100 feet away, with an excellent view of the summit.
Guided visits were available from about 2004 to 2008. Due to several trespassing incidents and subsequent legal action, this is no longer the case. There appears to be no legal access to the summit at this time. For current status contact Mid-Pen ranger Loro Paterson:
