Great Basin, Yosemite, Eastern Sierra, Death Valley, & Zion Photos
We spent the majority of our time on this trip in Yosemite National Park, although I decided to include pictures from the other parts of our trip in this album as well. The crowds were a bit frustrating (we literally saw thousands just from France, for example), but in between the lines of people we got to climb Half Dome (checking out Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls along the way), walk among the giant sequoias in Mariposa Grove, and take in the views at Glacier Point our first day there. The next day we did a couple more secluded hikes behind Pothole Dome on the western edge of Tuolumne Meadow and on the Tufa Trail bordering Mono Lake outside the park. The only bad part about the trip was that my constant attempts to secure dayhike permits for Mount Whitney in the days leading up to our stay in Lone Pine failed, but it was nice seeing the Eastern Sierra for the first time. On the way back home we drove through Death Valley and made a slight detour to check out Kolob Canyon in Zion National Park.I put together a slideshow of my pictures here.
