Voted 4/5 | After losing my first compass on a blizzard trek at night on Mt. Washington, NH, I was in the market for a new compass and got this one. It works well like most compasses I've used, and I like the "slopeometer"....don't have to guess now. However, I'm not sure why it costs $50....a little pricey. It lines up quickly, is easy to see/read in low light, and works well with a map. However, most cheaper compasses do this also.... | | Posted Apr 27, 2002 12:09 am | | tiefenthaler | Untitled Review | |
Voted 5/5 | Works well in the mountains, lightweigt, easy to use. I like especially the relatively long edge which helps working with the map. Declination adjustment is very helpful at times. Klinometer is a nice feature. Outside the US I guess Brunton is known as Silva (of Sweden). Downside: maybe price, but Recta compasses don't seem to be cheaper. | | Posted May 6, 2003 11:33 pm |
