I have had these for years. They are as basic as they come but do what they say. Mine have been durable but I have not used them on rock or ropes just snow. They are water resistant but not water proof. Adding some DWR made them better. For extra warmth and protecting your gloves or mittens these are great. Also good for putting together your own modular mitts with the addition of a good pile layer.

Four stars because they do what they claim to.

I use these when snow shoeing or climbing with poles. I wear a pair of pile liners or capeliene liners beneath them. The closure system is great for keeping snow out. Very durable and weatherproof.

I like these Shell Mitts and use them for years now.
I cover some thin liners or non waterproof fleece gloves with them and i have them always in my backpack to add a little warmth when its getting colder or wet.
They are very durable and the velcros offer a good fit.

Good
I've used these on all sorts of stuff and they've always been good to me. Warm enough 95% of the time. Sometimes the inner glove has trouble going back in, which sucks if it's frigid outside. Good basic mitten/shell combo.
