Comfortable
I usually don’t look forward to buying a new winter mountaineering boot because of sizing issues, break-in time, and other issues which many of us encounter when buying a stiff boot. So it was with great delight that I discovered this model to be a very comfortable fit right out of the box.

My feet tend toward the cold side and so this boot has not been overkill even on Sierra Nevada winter outings. So it seems like a perfect Cascades boot and I’ll test them on Mt. Rainier next month. The comfort on long hauls is as good as any stiff boot can be. Being a stiff boot, the grip on rock is not the same as a supple leather boot.
