I didn't do the proper stretches before dayhiking Deerhorn (after taking a week off because of bad cold) and did some trail running on the approach and I feel that's when it must have happened. It was giving me a great deal of pain on the hike out, making me so fortunate I did not commit to an even longer day with more peaks.

Thought it would go away by now, but I still feel it, although not as severe/painful. Hope its not a big problem.

What are proper stretches? I generally stretch AFTER I run/hike. I'd guess the virus and maybe running may have bitten you.

All this internet bickering can be resolved by a nice bonding hike next weekend at the SC!

Is it on the upper calf or lower thigh? Medial (inside) or lateral? Upper calf would likely be gastrocnemius pull. Lower thigh could be a popliteal or hamstring tendon overuse. Just guessing.

Good times at one of the largest natural and remote lakes in the Sierra.
