Skripko walking on slowly on... | [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ] |
Skripko walking on slowly on the exposed traverse at 6400m. Fixed ropes yes, but very unstable snow conditions. And a potential 500m fall down to the glacier below.
West face of Baltoro Kangri (7800m) in the background. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | Lui_DK | Nice one!!! | |
Voted 10/10 | Hi Corax,
Real nice shot! Gives a very good sense of the drama...
What sort of camera are you using?

I use a Minolta 9xi since ten years back. It was Minolta's last real try to break into the pro-market and it's a really good one. A chip gave in this time (first time anything breaks on it) and I had huge difficulties to get the exposure/light/colors right.
I'll go digital soon. I'm just waiting for the price/quality ratio to be a bit better. | | Posted Sep 22, 2005 4:02 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Hi Corax;
Cool! It just makes the photo even better.
With a HQ E6 roll of film and a HQ scanner it's still better to shoot analog....
But I have the same considerations as you, as I'm carrying a PENTAX K-1000 + heavy lenses. So I'll go digitall soon too...
Keep up the good work :-)

A very valid point.
It's so hard to resist taking "in-action" shots, but I know I have been passing the limit of what's reasonable at times. | | Posted Nov 1, 2007 1:57 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Much too steep on unstable snow for me. But, to do a big mountain like this you would have to take chances like this.
I aspire to check out all your photos. | | Posted Sep 21, 2008 7:36 pm |

The conditions that season was bad all the time. Lots of unstable snow, heavy snowfall and avalanches. | | Posted Sep 23, 2008 6:06 am |

Hasn't voted | I like to shoot in these tricky situations. After all, those are the times you want remember. Not the slow, boring walk on a perfect trail. | | Posted Oct 29, 2008 12:02 pm |
