Water trail is beautiful and full of water cascades, duh. Ridgeline traverse is a BEAUTY! One of the best in the eastern US. Went over Lincoln and to Lafayette.
Clear and overcast for the second of the two 5000 footers on the ridge. Felt like i could reach out and touch Washington to the East and Mansfield farther to the west.
My favorite hike in all the whites.
Above the Greenleaf Hut, the wind blew the clouds away and it was a glorious summit day. A very clever piece of route finding to avoid the gendarme on the south ridge. Terrific views (even Washington eventually cleared). And every time I got tired on the Falling Waters trail I turned around and saw another beautiful waterfall!
rain and fog were the downside, solitude due to weather the upside
Good views, good traverse
A bad weather, but they look's like very great. I wish to do again.
A route that NEVER GETS OLD. You haven't visited New Hampshire until you do the Franconia RIdge Traverse. Mt. Lincoln has amazing views.
Possibly the best day hike New England has to offer. Easy to see why it brings in the crowds.
The ridge between Lafayette and Lincoln is one of my favorite sections of trail in NH.
On the way through on the traverse. Very pretty sharp ridge traverse.
Great hike on the ridge from lafayette, lot of people because of the sun.
Very nice. Enjoyed a particularly large PB&J on the summit. Mmmmm.
Climbed it along with Mount Lafayette and Little Haystack Mountain in 90 MPH winds with a snow storm.
This was one of many preparation hikes for Rainier. Nice trail, fun hike.
Great hike. Promised to return in the winter, however might take advantage of the AMC huts.
Nice morning walk along the ridge. Not many people until the way down.
