Great pack for a reasonable price. I had one for about 8 years. When I got in the "Light is Right" attitude I bought the smaller Alpine Attack and gave the Appalachian to a friend. It was holding up great (and still does). It carries loads well and the adjustment range is great.

I had to add second ice axe loop, other than that it worked great for me.
