Small and light
I bought this unit to replace a lost Geko 201. It has all the features I need and is small & light, plus has a high-sensitivity receiver -- much faster satellite lock.

My headlamps all use AAA batteries, so I don't need to carry two sets of spares.

It seems to work with National Geographic Topo 4.5 -- just select support for the Foretrex 101/201 and the USB interface and you're good to go.

Another basic option is the eTrex H, which is bulkier and heavier. In addition, the foretrex has settings for battery type (alkaline, NiMH, lithium) and personal info, like the geko 201.
