Sheriff's double-slot design accepts ropes from 8.5mm to 11mm and allows you to feed single or double ropes smoothly.

Forged from high-strength aluminum for lightweight, durable performance

Thick side walls and a large surface area transfer and dissipate heat quickly

Solid alloy retaining loop won't get caught and stop the rope, like some flexible styles can

I used this to rappel with and climb plastic and found it to work as well as the BD ATC
It has fatter walls than the ATC. I bought mine at the Self-Propelled Outdoorsman in Cincinnati for a reasonable price.

Excellent, simple design. It just works. Nothing fancy. I love the beefy rigid loop for clipping to your harness. I far prefer that to the floppy cable systems on many belay/rappel devices.

Works great with single or double ropes. Catches falls well, pays out rope well, rappels well.

No fancy auto-locking features or anything like that. But when I'm really out there climbing, I don't want any of that stuff anyway. Just give me a bomb-proof, reliable simple tool. This is it.

Simple, solid piece of climbing gear.

The design makes it easy to use while standing up to the rigors of rock climbing.

No bells and whistles but still does everything that you need it to do.

The price is awesome and with some care it will last you years.
