Product Description

"This legendary load carrier has an updated back system includes improved body-contact fabrics for lasting comfort and stability. Torso FitĀ® APSĀ®7 suspension system allows quick, easy adjustment of torso length for a personalized fit. Curved, foam-padded shoulder straps with sternum strap and load-lifter straps combine with an ergonomic waistbelt to distribute weight evenly. Radial side compression system controls the load, creates stability and helps concentrate the load in the center of your back. Back pads, lumbar pad and hipbelt are covered with moisture-wicking mesh to help keep you dry. New, easy forward pull hipbelt closure provides extra leverage in cinching. Pack has a top-loading design with a zippered divider that creates upper and lower compartments. Bottom zippered opening offers easy access to a sleeping bag or other gear at the bottom of the pack. Internal pocket holds a reservoir of your choice and pack also has a port for the sip-tube (reservoir sold separately). Other pack features include trekking pole attachments, wand pockets, dual ice-axe loops and tuck-away mesh bottle pockets near waistbelt. Lid includes a zippered pocket; pack also allows you to expand the spindrift collar to add 900 cubic inches of storage space. Removable lid also converts to a waistpack for short day hikes from camp. Pack is made of durable ripstop nylon with textured polyester and nylon reinforcements that enhance durability. Includes a rain cover." (By REI)

very sturdy
If your looking for a pack that you can knock around and don't have to treat with care this is a good pack. Have used in harsh winter conditions in the Sierras, took care of my gear and gave me a fair number of options for moving gear around interior and exterior.
