What about these five Dan; Fort William (would cover roughly Nevis range, Mamores, Glencoe Loch Treig), Aviemore (Cairngorms, Monadhliath, Loch Laggan, Ben Alder), Braemar (Lochnagar, Glenshee, Angus Glens), Crianlarich (Tyndrum, B. of Orchy, Arrochar) and either Callander/Killin/Aberfeldy (Loch Earn, Lawers, Glen Lyon).

This wouldn't define east, central and west but would have a specific hub town to access local ranges in different areas with, as you say, a passing reference still made to the rest.

That works for me, do you need any help on them? I'm guessing Clint's still hibernating...

I'll do Crianlarich and Callander just now. Clint had his name next to Aviemore and Fort William so we'll see what he wants to do. That just leaves Braemar.

I think after that we just have the following to do;
1) Atholl & East Drumochter
2) Angus Glens
3) Monadhliath Mountains
4) Loch Treig
5) Ben Alder Hills
6) Loch Laggan
7) Tyndrum
8. Geology & Climate
9) Remove other useful info section???

and then were done?

Okay, I'll do Braemar. I've also put my name next to the Ben Alder and Loch Treig Hills so I'll write them too. Unfoertunately when I visited them I wasn't particularily into photography, so I have no images to post. If anyone's got anything, that'd be great.

Clint's still MIA so it might be worth doing the Fort William and Aviemore bits ourselves. I'm sure a bit of a copy and paste job from his logistics page for Fort William will do.

I've spoke with Clint. He's kinda busy just now, but will check in with us on Tuesday if he can. I'd agree with us doing the Aviemore and Fort William bits.

I've got a couple of pics of the Ben Alder area from when I was in West Drumochter that I'll attach onto the page just now.

Dan,

I've done a small intro to the Hub towns. Feel free to add to, alter or completely change as I may be totally on the wrong track with it.

I've also done the bit for Callander. Is this what we are looking to be adding? Just want to check before I do Crianlarich. Any suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Can you tell I'm a bit :?

That looks like just the right amount of information, I'll do something similar for Fort William and Braemar this week.

I've done the Ben Alder Hills, going to start on the Loch Treig Hills today, does anyone have any extra photo's of them, the ones on the Easian page aren't that good.

Also does anyone have any photo's of Creag Meagaidh and the Loch Laggan area? I've found two, but really need at least one more.

If got a couple of winter piccies of a snow/ice route taken i th e80´s I´ll have to scan them though (sometime soon I hope)
And I´ve forgotten the route name, I´ll have to look it up.
Does "Post Horn" sound right????

I was wondering about the structure of the page. Surely it would be better if the sub-ranges ran from west to east rather than from east to west. This tends to be what most guidebooks do, and it seems a little more logical, what do you reckon?

That's true Dan, when I think about it they are like that. Seems logical to change it around.

Well at least it's an easy change to make. Consider it done.

Dan,

I like the alterations you have made to the photographs above each sub range. I think maybe, that a selection of three above the Glencoe and Arrochar pages would be better than what I have currently attached. If you agree, then feel free to change them as you seem to have a good eye for picking them out.

What are your thoughts on the primary image? We suggested pics for Eric's Scotland page earlier on in the thread. Here's some of the ones I'd nominated that are in the Grampians;

Top 3

http://www.summitpost.org/image/77568/1 ... -carn.html
http://www.summitpost.org/image/385929/ ... anach.html
http://www.summitpost.org/image/41416/1 ... agach.html

Other 7

http://www.summitpost.org/image/339610/ ... bbler.html
http://www.summitpost.org/view_object.p ... _id=459145
http://www.summitpost.org/view_object.p ... _id=151013
http://www.summitpost.org/view_object.p ... _id=290167
http://www.summitpost.org/view_object.p ... _id=389444
http://www.summitpost.org/image/8987/15 ... -s-ne.html
http://www.summitpost.org/image/44168/1 ... te-of.html

Maybe it should contain one of the noteworthy peaks in the range. Or maybe just the range map???

Yes, looking at it now it might be better to have a few more selections of three instead of the panoramas. Just to give it a bit more variety if nothing else. I'll have a look, and maybe change a few things around.

I reckon a photo for the profile pic would be better than a map, at the moment I'm drawn to ether the An Garbanach or Aonach Eagach ones. I was also thinking of maybe using a photo of the Ben since it's by far the area's most noteworthy peak; there's a few suggestions posted below. I'll have a think about it over the weekend.

http://www.summitpost.org/image/185733/ ... c-hut.html
http://www.summitpost.org/image/185476/ ... nevis.html
http://www.summitpost.org/image/263177/ ... 1342m.html

One other change I'm going to make is to cut down the Munro and Corbett lists to a "Top 25". The full lists will then be posted on seperate list pages attached to the main GM page. I think the slow load times are caused by these, so once they're gone the whole thing should work a lot more smoothly.
