Description

This is a collection of photos about Snowdrops (Galanthus). The genus is member of the Amaryllidaceae family. Most of its species bloom at the end of the winter period, often poking through the decaying snow layer, thus considered as messengers of the forthcoming spring (there are some exceptions, which bloom in early spring or late autumn). The most widespread member of the family is the common snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis). These plants are protected in several countries.
