Wild Lilies

Wild Lilies

Liliaceae

There are approximately 4,000 species of lily worldwide. They can be found in nearly every habitat a plant can grow, but are most common in dry temperate areas. Because they are beautiful and sought after, the lily family is one of the most important group of plants economically worldwide. Though there are probably thousands of cultivars developed to exaggerate color and structural characteristics, the wild lilies are the most beautiful to me for their realness.

There are many nice lily photos scattered about SP. Please consider adding yours here. If you're not sure your photo is a lily, just ask. If I don't know I can look it up.

Re: Hi!!!

Thanks Romuald, I appreciate it. Thanks for all the votes on photos. I would suspect and hope a plant man like yourself will be submitting some photos to this album?
