is the local name for the south ridge leading to the summit of Piz Bernina. In German, it's called the Spalla Grat

, the route begins on the glacier, but higher up it is a rocky ridge, grade III. Being on the end of the rope, between two steep sections, I had plenty of time to look around and take pictures as Hermann prepared to lead the next steep bit.
