My problem in life, is that I always give people the benefit of the doubt. But I really would like to hear more about spring conditions!

I really hope to get out to the Sierra more this year, but I am being called by Utah, Inyos... so many places. Aren't we blessed?

Still unstable air throughout the area today, Harlan, and stunning localized squalls moving through. Caught glimpses of the tops of the Whites this afternoon and they got a nice blanket. Incredible light on Mts. Tom and Basin as the clouds broke up a bit. I think it's supposed to move through tonight, and I might try to get out for a few sunrise shots at the end of my block tomorrow. Great bike riding weather with a mild headwind heading up 168 but cool temps.

Crazy late season storm. It looks like the Sierras got a fair amount of snow, even making a significant touch on the inyo range. I think the saline valley folks might be trapped in saline valley for the rest of this week!

Where exactly is that, Deb? Was there much soft snow on the approach?

Yikes. I'm looking at Mt. Emerson for next weekend... tentative plan is the same route you and Laura did recently. I'm hoping that since it's got Southern exposure and temps are supposed to be 70-ish all week, this new snow will be gone?

Oh Emerson should be in great shape by next weekend. Just make sure you bring crampons and an axe. :/ SOMEone didn't tell me we were doing a snow climb. Good thing my Trangos love a challenge. And stay right at the split in snow chute, otherwise you'll be rock climbing a running waterfall - Trangos love waterfalls too. I shouldn't be alive ~

Any clue how it looks across the valley, on the Inyos?

Nice! Yeah, I always bring the axe and crampons, this time of year  . So the split is where the class 4 SE route begins, yes?

I've been wondering the same thing.

Aw, come'on, girlie. I couldn't have our first peak together be all *boring* n stuff, right? RIGHT? :D

I believe the question was asked: Are you bringing crampons/axe? My reply: Yup.

Harlan, Inyos are dry already, maybe a whisper of white on the north faces.

Now, as for a little Army Pass action:
