Approach

North Gateway Rock. Cowboy Boot Face.

Route Description

The tourist gully is a shallow gully that climbs around the Cowboy Boot Face to the right. It is called the "Tourist Gully" because tourists often scramble to the top and get stuck, requiring rescue.

The gully is a great way to access the Cowboy Boot anchors to set up a toprope.

Essential Gear

None - if you're just scrambling. Double ropes if you wish to rap.

"The bizarre trend in mountaineers is not the risk they take, but the large degree to which they value life. They are not crazy because they don't dare, they're crazy because they do. These people tend to enjoy life to the fullest, laugh the hardest, travel the most, and work the least."   --Lisa Morgan
