Our Ice Screw was already one of the most popular screws on the mountain, but we figured out how to make them place even faster, hold even stronger and resist corrosion even better. We redesigned the lead tooth profi le and back-pitch on the threads to make them bite aggressively into even the coldest, most brittle ice. Our new plating process provides incredibly improved corrosion-resistance. These affordable screws deliver more performance than others costing twenty dollars more.

Each screw is equipped with the Speed Grinder knob system. No more grappling with folding levers, knobs, or cranks, the Speed Grinder is always deployed and ready.

Don't know the deal, how can Omega undersell Black Diamond by 50% and offer a lighter weight screw with even two better features? For weight alone, I would buy this screw, but the fact you can sink 2 biners vs one in them is another reason. The handle could bring on debate I suppose. I personally buy into the idea that I would rather the handle stay up. Less chance of freezing in place and with huge mitts, no worries getting it up. They are designed to sheer off in case of interference. This is one of the ways they are making this screw lighter I assume. They truly are $20 less then there comparable brethren. Curious what CW thinks. Cheers!
