Overview/Approach

Henrietta's Day Spa, 5.11b*
Henrietta's Day Spa, 5.11b*

West Tiers refers to a two-tiered wall system just to the north of the parking area for Split Rock.  From the parking lot, walk a few meters east along the road and then cut off north for these southwest facing walls.  The lower wall has four published routes along with a few much easier routes that are used by beginners and not necessarily published in the local guides.  The published routes feature a fun, and easy for the grade, trad route named Blood and Cuts, 5.9*.  To the right of the obvious splitter that is Blood and Cuts, to the right of a descent gully used for the lower tier routes, are two sustained bolted routes that climb though a wide dike of protruding rock, Lee’s Health Studio, 5.11a*, and Henrietta’s Day Spa, 5.11b*.  Henrietta’s traverses right to left over this broad overhanging dike and is stout for the grade.

Park at the Split Rock trail head and meander back east on the road and turn left and you are starring at the West Tier routes.  There is a lower tier and upper tier.

Blood and Cuts- 50’-5.9*/

Lee’s Health Studio- 35’-5.11a/

Henrietta’s Day Spa- 40’-5.11b*/ This fully bolted route follows a unique wide dike full of protruded rock, right to left, full of pumpy overhanging, but mostly positive, holds.  The crux is when you reach the left end of this line of bolts and leave the dike up via a gritty flake and corner finish.  There is no fixed gear on top.  Bring the 2nd up and walk off a gully at climbers left.  You can bring a few trad pieces to supplement five bolts.  The gear helps protect through the transition out of the dike (crux).  Dow
