Overview

Cimon della Bagozza,despite not the higest point of the area,but the
most important summit of a group of four mountains with:Cima Mengol
(2421m),Cima dei Ladrinai(2403m) and Cima della Bacchetta(2549).
As the neighbour Pizzo della Presolana,they are composed by calcareous
rock that gives them Dolomiten shapes.
The group is situated in the easter part of Lombardia region,between
Valle Camonica on east and Valle di Scalve on west;both connected
from pass del Vivione(1828m).
The group is basicly composed by two section,(Bagozza,Mengol on
west and Ladrinai,Bacchetta on east),shared by a small valley,where
the bivouac ValBaione(2016m) is a good base camp for many ascents.

Getting there

There are many routes to get there but probably the most usual are:
-CIMALBOSCO(1580m) : placed on the route SP294 from Schilpario
in Valle di Scalve,almost two Km before pss del Vivione.
-SOMMAPRADA(1045m) : leave the road SP42 of Valle Camonica
at the village of Breno.Take the direction to Lozio and leave the car
just above in Sommaprada location.
-BAITA ISEO(1335m) : leave the road SP42 at the village of Capodiponte,
and take the direction to Ono S.Pietro and than to the refuge Baita Iseo.

Valle di Scalve is reachable from Milano-Bergamo-Clusone by road SP671
Valle Camonica is reachable from Milano-Bergamo-Lovere by road SP42
or from Brescia-Iseo by road SP510

CIMA DELLA BACCHETTA:
-from biv.Valbaione - path 158 - 2.30 hours - EA
-from Sommaprada - path 81A - 3.30 hours - EE

Main climbing routes

-N edge - Cassin - 400m - 6� and A1 (5.9) - hard classic route

-NW channel - Bramani - 350m - up to 4� - classic, the easiest on this side of the mountain

-Mary Poppins - 350m - very difficult, to the left of Cassin edge

The Bivouac Valbaione

Nice structure.Confortable,and conposed by two romms.The bigger with 8/10 sleep places on timber.
The second with an almost fully furnished kitchen.
The bibouac is reachable by two paths:
-from Cimalbosco - path 81 - 2 hours - E
-from Sommaprada - path 81 - 3 hours - E
