OverviewThe Scopi 3190m/10466ft is a mountain in Switzerland, in the Swiss-canton Ticino and Grisons. He's on the boarder of the Swiss-cantons Gisons (Graubünden) and Ticino (Tessin). This mountain is close-by mountain pass Lukmanier 1915m and by the villages Curaglia and Disentis.
To the south-east of the Scopi you find the Glacier "Glatscher da Casatscha", the last glacier in the area, which has suffered heavily from global warming. Like many other glaciers in the Alps it has shrunk a lot.
Scopi is a popular mountain in summer as well as in spring with ski. With ski is essential to have a minimal avalanche risk.
In the neighbourhood you find the mountains Piz Miez 3119m, Piz Rondadura 3016m, Cima di Camadra 3172m and Piz Medel 3210m and many more very beautiful and lonely 3000er-mountains.
On the top of Scopi is a air traffic control building. Air traffic control from Switzerland's civil aviation and Swiss army aviation. But the summit is free accessible
and the engineers up there are friendly :-)

Lukmanier pass 1915m - and over the west ridge (there are some path spoors) to the summit of Scopi 3190m

Alternative route:
A beautiful route is also over the south ridge.
Starting point is the "Passo di Gana Negra 2463m" in the south of the Scopi. From this pass up to the summit Pizzo del Corvo 3015m and adjoining about the south ridge to Scopi 3190m

Ski tour route:
Lukmanier pass 1915m - up to the saddle between Piz Miez and Scopi - afoot about the north ridge to the summit of Scopi.
Difficulty: S (D) ¦ Route: 242a ¦ 1260 metres in altitude
or
the ski-route from the Capanna Bovarina (2 hours from campo Blenio) through the Passo Casatscha (east side) to get the last part of the N ridge - to be done in march-april with perfectly safe snow. Thanks to Gabriele for this tip.
AccommodationsNot much accommodations in the vicinity. Bivouac at the Lukmanier pass or sleep in a hotel in the villages Curaglia or Disentis.
