Overview
Mont Collon is an impressive mountain, best seen from the Arolla valley. From there you can admire the realy pretty north face, wich has some interesting routes. People refer to the Mont Collon as the Matterhorn of Arolla. It forms a perfect end to the nice valley.The mountain is close to the Cabane de Vignettes and many skiers pass the mountain every year, when they are doing the Haute Route.
Getting There
Go past Arolla to a small parking space a little further, at the end of the ski piste. From here follow a trail on the right side of the road, a little left of the piste. The trail goes up for a couple of hundred meters, follow a ridge and at the top of this ridge go left. You are now entering a large slope, where at the end you can find the Cabana de Vignettes.Hut phone: : +41 (0)27 283 1322
Routes
For this section specific I ask for your help. I know about a few routes, but there must be more...East ridge (long rock route, grade IV?)
South East Spur (rock route, TD-)
North West Couloir (ice/mixed route, D+/TD-)

routeshi jeroen, I just added the page for the SE spur. Concerning the section "routes" in your page I suggest that you add the W-ridge. This is the normal route, and most often used for the descend. further there are numerous routes in the north face, but I don't know if it is useful to mention them. however, the south ridge is important to mention, since this is also a possibility for descent (into the other valley), and often used when traversing mt collon. there is also an additional spur on the south east face (grade D+) that I cannot remember the name of. cheers
