Overview

This is an easy mountain, which is climbed by many meople. It's a mountain on your way to Obergabelhorn. The easiest routes on the mountain are rated PD (French). The routes are mainly rockclimbing (II - III). Only the last few hundred meters consist of snow. Time needed to get to the top of Wellenkuppe from "Rothornhutte" is about 2,5 hours. It will take much longer if there is a lot of snow on the rocks after bad weather. Route finding will be much more difficult. On top great view of eg. Matterhorn. For detailed route descriptions, look in "Clubfuhrer Walliser Alpen, Vom Col Collon zum Theodulpass nr.3" This book describes almost 1200 routes on mountains on the area as mentioned in the titel.
