Overview
Easy to climb mountain in the Bernese Oberland, with great view at the major peaks of the Bernese Oberland. The Schilthorn / Pic Gloria is famous due to the movie of James Bond (007): On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
From the Schilthorn you see: Gspaltenhorn (north face), Tchingelhorn, Breithorn, Mittaghorn, Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger.
There is a cable from Lauterbrunnen/Steckelberg via Gimmelwald and Mürren. The peak is very touristic. Only a few people do actually climb the whole way up and down.
Getting There
Via Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen towards Mürren (walk, cable or train). From Mürren you can go to the top via three routes:
1. via Schreckhornhütte in the Engital
2. via Schilttal
3. Via Rotstockhütte in the Sefinental
It's not recommended to climb the last part to the top when it's wet, when you are not an experienced climber..

When To Climb
The restaurant at the top is open the whole year. In summer and autumn it is the best period to climb. In winter and spring you can ski from the top towards Mürren.
