The mountains belonging to this group aren't really high, only few summits are more than 2000m high (the highest one is the Monte Cadria - 2254m) but are rather wild (few refuges and marked paths) and with a special trait that make them very worthy to be hiked and climbed : from many ridges and from the eastern walls you can give a look directly down to Garda lake.

Getting There

From Riva del Garda follow signs to Varone, Pranzo and here turn left to Campi.
Continue to the refuge Grassi where you can park your car (1050 m)

From refuge Grassi, follow the trail 402 till a cross where you turn left and reach Bocca di Trat 1581m.

Here you can follow

to the left, getting, in few minutes walk, the Refuge Pernici (1600m)

to the right, following the trail 420 (Path of Peace) along the exposed west side of the mountain.
Once at the fork, turn to the right up the steep and stony path and from the base of a rocky pyramid, with the help of a short rope, reach the summit of the Mazza di Pichea (1879m)

From the summital Cross you can enjoy a circular pano including Trentino's mountains and Garda lake.

the fastest route is the motorway A22 (Modena - Brennero): till Rovereto Sud - Lago di Garda Nord only 17 km to Riva del Garda
coming from N you can leave the motorway at Trento Centro and follow the SS 45b (about 40 km) to Riva del Garda
from Brescia, along the SS 45 bis (Gardesana Occidentale) - 80 km : between Gargnano and Riva the road is a little narrow.
from Brescia, along the SS 449 (Gardesana Orientale) wider and faster but in summer months very crowded.

a public bus service joins Rovereto to Torbole, Riva and Arco.
